Led the US Payroll product from spec to launch, managing a team of three engineers, two of them senior. Built an internal SDK that auto-generated backend APIs, schemas, and types from a single source of truth, cutting boilerplate across every feature and shortening both time-to-launch and ongoing delivery speed.
Led the migration off a Svelte monolith to Next.js/Node.js to improve developer velocity and lay a scalable foundation ahead of a new product and revenue line, architecting the monorepo from scratch and owning tooling, logging, observability, and 90%+ of the new codebase.
Designed the multi-tenant architecture end to end, enforcing data isolation via row-level security, and matching access controls at the application layer.
Redesigned schemas and APIs to support multi-role users (worker and company user), enforcing RBAC at the route and resource level.
Architected token-based session management with per-account context scoping, allowing one auth session to hold multiple company accounts without cross-account leakage.
Owned Autopay, a mission-critical payments feature, from engineering spec to production, building automated draft-and-pay scheduling, variance alerting and a full audit log for compliance and traceability.
Built the design system for US Payroll from scratch, including its own component library and design tokens. After our Series A, led a UI/UX overhaul spanning both the core app and US Payroll.
Built developer experience tooling from scratch, including linting, type-checking, and formatting configs plus pre-commit hooks, as internal packages consumed by every frontend and backend app in the monorepo.
Wrote a strict Content Security Policy to mitigate XSS and clickjacking risks, and set up automated dependency vulnerability scanning across the repo.

Software Engineer

Owned the employee-facing experience within the payroll product, including onboarding, information flows, and tax documentation, along with key parts of the payroll flow.
Owned the entire contractor-facing platform, covering onboarding, contract management, invoicing, and payment processing.
Built multi-account access architecture supporting distinct worker classifications (W2, contractor, EOR), with appropriate account-level permissions for each.
Scaled contractor invoicing on the company side by building unified views to review, approve, and pay invoices, supporting $500K+ in monthly transactions.
Built the integration layer for a third-party AP/AR platform, covering payables and receivables automation, payments, invoice OCR extraction, and accounting sync, extending it with custom line items, discounting, and PDF/email export.
Cut payload size by up to 20x and improved Time to Interactive across critical user flows by optimizing API response design.
Enforced a strict Content Security Policy, mitigating XSS and clickjacking risks and achieving a 100/100 score on Mozilla Observatory.
Diagnosed and fixed a critical session renewal bug affecting ~7% of onboardings, improving platform reliability during extended sessions.
